Chamonix Accommodation Review

Chamonix is not a purpose resort built town but a beautiful 'real' French town. Full of atmosphere the town has narrow cobbled streets lined with old buildings housing boutique shops, restaurants and bars. Accommodation is available in luxury hotels, family run hotels, chalets, apartments and B & Bs.

The 5 star Le Hameau Albert 1er Hotel has gorgeous creatively styled double rooms and suites with fireplaces and spa baths. All rooms have private terraces or balconies, bath robes and slippers, satellite TV and wireless internet. Le Hameau Albert 1er has two in-house restaurants; a two Michelin Star gourmet restaurant and a traditional farmhouse style restaurant serving local specialities. The hotel has a bar and wine cellar, an outdoor heated swimming pool and hot tub, a day spa offering beauty treatments and massage therapies and a complementary shuttle bus transporting guests to the Chamonix ski areas. The hotel is a short stroll from the centre of town.

The luxury 4 star Grand Hotel Des Alpes Chamonix located in Chamonix’s main street has tastefully decorated double rooms and suites with separate lounge rooms sleeping up to five guests. The hotel has a communal lounge and bar with an open fireplace, a library and a relaxation centre with an indoor swimming pool, sauna, spa and an in-house massage therapist. Buffet breakfasts are served daily and guests have access to private car parking and a ski and snowboard storage room with boot dryers.

The 4 star Le Morgane Hotel has contemporary modern rooms and suites with stunning views of Mt Blanc. All the spacious rooms have private balconies, a mini bar, safe, wireless internet and room service. The hotel has an indoor heated swimming pool, sauna and steam bath, an in-house restaurant and bar, 24 hour reception, onsite laundry services and ski and snowboard storage lockers.

The centrally located 3 star Mercure Chamonix Centre Hotel has 125 comfortable rooms, an in-house bar and restaurant serving breakfast and dinner daily, a gift shop, guest laundry, undercover car parking and ski storage room.

The family run 3 star Hotel Vallee Blanche Chamonix is built in an eighteenth century old mill. The hotel located on the banks of the River Arve running through Chamonix has double and triple rooms all with ensuites and internet access. The hotel has cooked breakfast and the popular in-house pub "O’Byrnes" is open until 2am every night.

The 2 star Hotel du Louvre Chamonix is centrally located in the Chamonix town a short walk from the tourist office. The recently renovated hotel has single, double and family rooms with modern ensuites, flat screen televisions and wireless internet. Free parking is available on site and guets have access to free ski and snowboard storage lockers.

Chamonix has hundreds of apartments and chalets available to rent; most are centrally located, sleeping from two to six guests with basic kitchens, bathrooms and balconies.

The Pierre & Vacances Premium La Ginabelle apartments are all brand new. The one and two bedroom apartments are just steps from the train station and the main street. The modern apartments have full kitchens, dining areas and lounge rooms with mountain views. The complex has an indoor swimming pool and sauna, onsite reception with wireless internet, car parking, a ski and snowboard storage room and laundry facilities.

Residence Maeva La Riviere has studio and one and two bedroom apartments with full kitchens, living areas and balconies. The complex is a five minute stroll to the town centre of Chamonix and has a central reception, ski storage room, wireless internet and satellite television.
